María Rocío Díaz Gómez, José Ignacio Aguaded Gómez

Abstract

In this article we present a series of experiences and initiatives concerned with information and communication technologies (ICT) that have been specifically developed at Andalusian universities, and that have brought about their recognition and expansion within these institutions.

We start by giving an overview of the first innovation projects related to ICT and distance learning developed at these universities, .We then go on to describe the role of technological media at Andalusian universities by analyzing their statutes, records and other institutional documents. Finally, we present a selection of the initial studies, reports and projects that were carried out in the area of teaching practice.
