Sustaining Change in Universities. Continuities in case studies and concepts, by Burton R. Clark

Francisco Lupiáñez

Abstract

Following his initial model of five pathways of transformation published in 1998, Professor Burton R. Clark analyzes 14 new cases, this time from the five continents, to describe the pathways of transformation in greater depth and the changes needed to enable universities to meet the challenges posed by the demands of the information society. An addition to the five pathways of transformation is the concept of self-reliance of the agents involved in processes of continuous change to successfully meet the challenges posed.
